DÉBATTEZ!
A linguistic game that is fun, engaging, and tailored for all proficiencies of French and English.
ABOUT THE PROJECT.
In October 2024, the Association Francophone de Kamloops received a grant that helped launch a new program: Francopreneurs. The goal of this program was to bring our community together to educate children about financial literacy and entrepreneurship. In addition, we wanted to create products that promote the enjoyment of using the French language as well as create a new revenue stream for the community. Our first project was to develop a French board game with children for children.
Launched in collaboration with école Collines-d’or, students began with conceptualizing a company for their group (Francolab), creating jobs (tasks/roles/responsibilities) that would be needed to complete the game, writing resumes and letters of intent and then ‘applying for these jobs’. The association then hired Game Creator Rob Seib of Mindfruit games to host workshops at the school to develop the game concept and design. And so, inspired by a shared passion for debate, GO GO Débattez! was created: a linguistic game that is fun, engaging, challenging and made for all levels of French.
